Gift Exchange in a Home-Based Business

One of my favorite times of the year is Christmas and one of my favorite activities when I worked outside the home was a gift exchange.

A year ago I was working outside the home as a preschool teacher. The staff at my preschool had a Christmas party at one of my co-worker’s homes and we had this really fun night where we exchanged gifts.

If you enjoy gift exchanges and are working from home, you don’t have to give that up. Depending on the field you are working in, you may be able to incorporate this fun tradition.

In fact, I was pleasantly surprised when one of the sites that I am a writer for decided to have a Santa gift exchange among all of the writers. What a great idea.

The person in charge of this created a forum where everyone who wants to participate posts some of their favorite things to collect, colors, interests and so forth. So when someone gets your name they can go to the forum and get an idea of the types of things you enjoy.

I just recently got an email that the person I am buying a gift for lives in California. I live in Wisconsin, so I think it’s great to be able to do a gift exchange across the United States. It will be exciting the day my package arrives. I wonder if I will get someone from this country or another. I just love the anticipation of this.

At any rate, I just thought this was a very creative way to incorporate the fun holiday idea of doing a gift exchange for those who have a home-based business. How can you do the same? You might be able to come up with creative ways to do a gift exchange in your work-at-home job.
