Gingerbread Cake

Gingerbread Cake
Spicy cakes that begs to be served warm with fresh whipped cream.

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup shortening
1/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup molasses
2 large eggs
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
2/3 cup buttermilk

DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour an 8″ square pan.
2. Cream together the first four ingredients, adding eggs singly.
3. Combine remaining ingredients in a large bowl and slowly incorporate into the wet ingredients.
4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
6. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until done.

Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 30 minutes
