Give Your Metabolism a Boost

If you ask a group of people why they exercise, 1 in 3 will tell you they are doing it to lose weight. If your goal when you dive into your workout is to lose weight, then give yourself a boost by doing your workout first thing in the morning. You should start your day off with a positive affirmation of being healthier, smarter or better than you were before.

The Early Bird Catches the Worm

Start your workout early whether you are walking, dancing to a workout tape, hitting the gym or doing some strength training. Do it first thing in the morning. When you work out early in the day, you fire up your metabolism for the entirety of the day. You charge up your batteries. You may think a hard workout would leave you feeling exhausted just when you’re getting started, but far from it.

A brisk morning walk does more for waking me up than all the cups of coffee on the planet. In fact, I can sit down with a cup of coffee in the morning and it can take thirty to forty-five minutes for me to really wake up and get started. If I get up and do a brisk 30 minute walk in the morning, I am usually hopping with energy. I am up, I’m involved and I’m moving and I am more engaged in my day than I would be after two cups of coffee.

An Early Workout Regulates Your Hunger

When you’ve worked out first thing in the morning, you’ve also provided your body with a natural appetite suppressant. You’re far more likely to drink a couple of glasses of water rather than drinks heavy with caffeine and sugar. You are also more likely to make healthier choices when it comes to choosing something to eat.

Revving your body earlier encourages you in all your goals for the day whether it’s working, cleaning, taking care of your kids and more. So give your metabolism a boost and work out early.
