Video gamers have long been looking forward to the fourth and latest installment of the video game Grand Theft Auto. The game went on sale today, and analysts are predicting that sales of this game will break records. It is estimated that Grand Theft Auto 4 (or GTA 4) will sell more than 6 million copies and make more than $400 million in sales for this first week surpassing Halo 3, which currently hods the record for all-time record sales on a video game.
This video game release has people taking off of work and school in order to be one of the first to buy and play the game. It is available on the Sony Playstation 3, and now also on Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Previous releases were not available on the Xbox 360.
The Internet is a buzz with personal reviews of the game, as well as videos and other official promotions.
For parents out there, let me remind everyone that GTA 4 has a “M for Mature” rating attached to it. This means that the game should not be played or watched by anyone under the age of 17. While that age “recommendation” is not stopping many underaged gamers from playing this game, parents should warned. GTA is one of the most violent games out there, with a good dose of racy sexuality thrown in to the mix. It is also a very loud and “aggressive” game.
If you do choose to be among the 6 million gamers who purchase this game, I strongly suggest that you take the time to set the parental controls on your video game system to prevent anyone younger than 17 from playing the game. To learn how to set parental controls see one of the following articles, depending on your system:
