When I recruited Murphy, Tabby, and Mr. Meow to help in the personal pet therapy project, they had no idea their Grandma Dorothy might want to show her appreciation for their help by shopping for them. But that’s what she’s been dong the past few days –via one of the Doctors Foster and Smith catalogs. Specifically the one just for cats.
The Doctors Foster and Smith catalogs are among my favorite pet catalogs to browse through. (And, yes, even buy from. The Drinkwell Pet Fountain and the infamous cat cottage are two prime examples.) But I have to admit I don’t always peruse them anymore. The novelty’s sort of worn off.
Even if she didn’t have dementia and remembered looking through the catalog three times over already, it would still be very novel. But the fact she does have dementia and has commented on the same products each time tells me these have really caught her eye.
Seafood Cat Treats. Especially the Salmon Fishies. She’s sure Mr. Meow would love these.
Catnip Shakers. It comes with two pompon toys and she knows a certain Tabby Girl who likes to whap stuff around.
Pet Greens Cat Grass. This one she had more in mind for Murph. She’s seen him munch on grass on our walks and in the backyard and thinks this would be better for him.
Kookamunga Catnip Bubbles. We’re so getting these. I think not only would the cats like them, but it would help with my mom’s pet therapy. (I’m convinced giggles would abound watching the cats chase catnip-scented bubbles.)
Faux Suede Scalloped Kuddle Kup. That Grandma Dorothy sure knows her grandcats. They’d love such a snuggly bed. (Might even make them give up her hospital bed.)
Peppered Paws Furniture Throws and Heated Cat Blanket. Grandma Dorothy tends to run cold. I think she actually wants these for herself! (Now that’d be a switch, wouldn’t it? A person taking over a comfort snug from a cat?)
