Homeschooling for the Rest of Us is your basic Homeschooling 101 course. If you have ever thought about homeschooling or if you are in your first few years of homeschooling this is the book for you. If you are feeling overwhelmed or like your homeschool has veered off course then this is the book for you. No time to read another homeschooling book? Sonya Haskins’s Homeschooling for the Rest of Us is easily digestible and only 172 pages. However, those 172 pages cover all the aspects of homeschooling that most asked about such as how to deal with relatives, budget, and socialization. Having been a member of a homeschooling forum for the past five years, I have fielded my share of homeschooling questions. As I read this book I was amazed how the most asked questions on the forum were addressed in this little book. In fact, I am recommending it on that forum! She dispenses her experience and knowlege without demands on how a homeschool should be run to be successful. In fact, she presents the facts and offers tools to personalize your homeschool. As a homeschooling mom, I wish I would have read this years ago. While veteren homeschooling moms, may breeze through this book, it is a wonderful tool for beginners. If you could take a class on homeschooling this would be required reading.
Sonya Haskins is also the author of Homeschooler’s Book of Lists. Some of you may remember my review on this book as well. I am again encouraging every homeschooling mom to make a space on her shelf for this book. I have used this book at least weekly since I had the opportunity to review it. To be clear, I was not instructed to plug this book, I just like it that much!
