If you are looking to stow away for some peace and quiet this summer look no further than the Pacific Northwest. Various lodgings throughout the state of Oregon have drastically reduced their rates to entice travelers to experience the serenity found in the mountains and coastal areas of this popular region.
Take a look:
CANNON BEACH
The Ocean Lodge, located in the peaceful beach town of Cannon Beach, is offering a Northwest Picnic package that gives guests a chance to sample local cuisine. In addition to a nights accommodation, you will receive a basket full of regional products like Tillamook cheese, wild smoked salmon, summer sausage, Oregon hazelnuts, fresh fruit, and a Northwest pinot noir in complimentary wineglasses. The waterfront lodge also offers complimentary breakfast, wireless Internet, fireplaces in each room, and a fabulous location that features the Haystack, the huge beach rock and symbol of the Oregon coast, in its backyard. The lodge is also conveniently located near boutiques, upscale restaurants, and of course, the beach. Package rates start at $318 per room per night.
JOSEPH
The Wallowa Lake Lodge, located in the quaint town of Joseph, is surrounded by the Wallowa Mountains. (It is also home to the deepest gorge in the United States.) During the last week in September the town explodes with visitors who flock to the area to take part in Alpen Fest. The annual celebration of all things Swiss features music, custom-made German sausage, beer, and wine, and tons of local art. From now through mid-October the lodge, which was built in 1923 and offers glorious lake views, is pricing rooms at just $89 per night. The lodge also has eight cabins on the lakeshore that feature kitchens and are priced at a little more.
WILLAMETTE VALLEY
The 42-room Hotel Oregon sits in the heart of the Willamette Valley and is welcoming summer guests with an amazing offer. The Wine Country package features lodging for one night, a glass of wine for two at the Cellar Bar, and dinner and breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant for just $119 per room. The Willamette Valley is home to more than 200 wineries and offers a quiet reprieve from the hustle and bustle of major metropolitan areas.
