Forget the discount, the organic cherries not only rang up for a dollar more than the advertised price, but they also charged my per pound when this item was priced per package. The last thing I want to do is go back, but I cannot afford to keep letting these kinds of price discrepancy errors slide for the sake of convenience especially since these errors have been on the rise in the last few weeks. In the beginning the grocery store had their system set up to show the discount applied as each item was scanned at the checkout. After a while the discount did not show at checkout but only on the receipt separated out into categories of “health market items, organic produce, produce, and regular items. This at least made it easy to make sure that all “health market” and organic items rang up correctly. Then a few weeks ago these organized categories were also removed from the receipt. Everything was just clumped together on the receipt with the health market discount appearing arbitrarily at the bottom which made it rather difficult to ensure that everything rang up correctly. When I did not catch that my organic cherries did not ring up correctly my first thought was that I would just get it fixed the following week but then I realize that I would be going to the other location because it has a better selection next week. I felt that I must get the mistake corrected today but I also felt like driving back to the store again would be a waste of gas. That is when I decide to turn this fiasco of a day around and make going back to the store worth our while. I decide that we would go to a park near the grocery store so that my son can play. After locating the closest playground/park to the grocery store on a map, the kids and I got back into the car and headed out ….again. Once the organic cherry refund is acquired with no additional inconvenience (besides having to go back in the first place), we headed to the park for a little release.
