Grooms and Wedding Plans

Weddings are typically thought to be a ‘woman’s thing’. Many little girls begin to think about their wedding long before they begin to think about their spouse. They imagine themselves all dressed up and walking down the aisle.

Some women have their entire wedding planned before their partner even proposes. Women begin to look through magazines and pick out dresses and flowers, and such. So how do men feel about all of this?

In general, men are not thought to be wedding planners. Most men had rather not interfere with their fiancé’s planning. They realize how emotional and stressful she is and had rather not tread in those waters. They do not dare speak of changing a decision that she has made.

However, the talk is that a new trend is coming. Men are now caring more about wedding plans. There is even a website and magazine dedicated to helping men with the wedding process. The advice begins with love and proposal and carries the groom all the way to holy matrimony.

The magazine, Sophisticated Groom, was once available only online. However, it will soon be making a début to newsstands. The magazine is designed to interest men from ages twenty-five to forty-five. However, I am sure that it could be helpful for any age man who is in the process of getting married.

The magazine offers articles and tips on how to propose, financial planning, and dealing with the ball and chain issues of marriage. I think that it could be helpful for men to read articles form other men and realize that many men are facing the same issues and that it’s not just that their bride is totally insane.

I know some men that probably would be interested in reading and helping with their wedding. However, I know more that had rather not deal with the planning. They prefer to do nothing more than show-up (and we hope that they do that on time!)
