Halloween Party and Treat Ideas

So, you’re the cool mom or dad who is throwing the party this year. That’s great! Now all you need is a few more ideas to make the party extra special. Well, here you go:

Party Crafts

Keeping kids entertained is a big part of having a successful party. A simple craft project will not only keep kids busy, it will also give them a souvenir to take home afterward. It’s best to do easy projects that everyone can make, even if they aren’t used to doing many crafts. Try a ghost or pumpkin craft, like the one below or those from related articles (listed at the bottom of this page).

Ghost Craft

You will need small Styrofoam balls or ping pong balls, white handkerchiefs or squares of white fabric, string, markers, glue, scissors, and black construction paper.

Put the ball in the center of the fabric. Tie the string tightly at the “neck.” Have the kids draw faces. Cut a circle from black construction paper. Cut a strip about 1” wide and 3” long from the paper and glue or tape the ends together. Attach it to the circle. Cut a small circle that will fit the top. You’ve made a top hat for your ghost!

Party Favors

Purchase disposable cups in a Halloween theme. Fill them with treats. Pick up Styrofoam balls large enough to cover the top of the cup. Paint them black. Cut four black pipe cleaners in half and attach four pieces to each side of the ball. Add googly eyes and you have a big fat spider.
