Has your personal scripture study gotten off track? This can happen from time to time. Everyone goes through periods where they are very intent their scripture study and then periods where it seems to slip a bit. Studying the scriptures can bring great peace to your life, and so it is important that you constantly work on maintaining and improving the habit. Here are three steps to help you get back on track.
1) First you need to ask yourself why your current scripture study time is not working for you. Did your schedule change? Has your life been more chaotic then normal? Did you fall out of the habit with a recent vacation? Have you been sick and has that cut into your time? Do you need to change the way that you are studying?
2) Once you have determined why you stopped studying, you need to make a new plan so that you can begin studying again. You should start by determining the time of day when you will have the least amount of distractions. You may also want to choose a quiet place to study. If you need to change the way that you are studying, you may want a notebook to take notes in as you study. Remember to pray as you study the scriptures.
3) In a month you need to evaluate how your new studying sessions are going. If you are studying everyday and feel good about what you are gaining, then you have found the right solution for you. If not, then you need to begin the process again. As you pray to Heavenly Father and ask for His help, He can help you to find the right time and place to study.
Scripture study and personal pray are the best ways to build a close personal relationship with the Savior. It is time that you spend each day building your testimony. It is important that you do everything that you can to make it work for you.
