At present our letterbox is inundated with store catalogues trying to convince us of the need to buy jewelry, sexy underwear, chocolates and all sorts of things for Valentine’s Day. However some people, celebrities among them, have taken a whole different approach to Valentine’s Day.
Singer and former Australian Idol winner, Guy Sebastian and his wife Jules will share their love with the Red Cross. Guy and Jules are encouraging Australians, ’to treat their loved ones to a Red Cross Valentine’s donation and really make Valentine’s Day count by giving a life changing gift to someone in need.’
Valentine’s Day is all about love. But instead of it being purely a couple centered indulgent love, this is an opportunity to show that you and your spouse want to share the gift with others as Guy and his wife are doing. I mean really, when it all comes down to it, do any of us need more chocolates, flowers, or jewelry? Instead of giving these gifts you could instead give a Valentine’s gift that could help families separated by disaster or conflict re-unite, or feed a child a healthy meal, or protect people in danger of serious illnesses through poor sanitation.
For us, Guy Sebastian said, ’Valentine’s Day is no different from any other day of the year.- they’re all very special and we just try to make each one count.’ Guy, who is Red Cross Ambassador, went to say, ‘Jules and I have the power to make a real difference this Valentine’s Day simply by making a donation to the Red Cross in honor of each other.’
For you and your marriage partner to take part in this initiative to help others this Valentine’s Day you can make a donation at www.fortheloveofhumanity.com Then make your gift personal by sending your loved one a free-card or e-card telling them about this special gift in honor of your love. This sounds a good idea to me.
