Have A Monstrous Good Time At These Halloween Happenings

Where will you be spending All Hallows Eve this year? You could have a ghoulish good time in Chicago or a Haunted Hallows Eve in Florida. Take my advice and leave the trick-or-treat candy on the porch (and your kids with a babysitter)—the entire country is getting spooked out with monstrous parades and other freaky festivals and you should be part of the action.

Take a look at all of the festive events taking place around the nation. Then, pick out your costume and get ready to have a boo-tiful night.

NEW YORK

New York’s Village Halloween Parade is billed as one of the biggest freak fests in the country. The parade is open to anyone wearing a costume—-and this being New York that can add up to some wild times. (It may be hard to tell who’s in costume.) This year’s theme is “Wings of Desire” so expect some provocative and creative costumes. If you would rather skip the dressing up part you can still take part as a spectator along Sixth Avenue.

CALIFORNIA

The East Coast is not the only place where you can go for a haunting good time this Halloween. In California, the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval is considered the ultimate place to “dress up.” The Carnaval is also known as “the largest adult outdoor Halloween event in the world.” Head out to Santa Monica Boulevard on Halloween and judging for yourself.

NEW ORLEANS

Haunted History Tours, Voodoo Music Experience and a Ghostly Galavant through the St. Louis Cemetery No. 2–those are just some of the activities being offered this Halloween in voodoo country. The annual Haunted New Orleans festival is creepier than ever this year as it plays host to the Witching Hour Ball put on by the Anne Rice Vampire Lestat Fan Club. The Big Easy is also offering Haunted History Tours, a Ghost Tour, a Vampire Tour, a Voodoo Tour and a Haunted Garden District Tour.
