Probably the most innovative website I’ve ever encountered. Amazon.com is truly unique and definitely a one stop shopping place for the frugal of society who love to read or need a book for one thing or another.
Recently I have been spending a great deal of time on Amazon.com. And being the frugal gal that I am, it’s the perfect place for me. I have no particular problem with purchasing something used, and will try desperately to find whatever I need used, if it can be found.
Among garage sales and yard sales, flea markets, clothing consignment shops, resale furniture stores and other great venues, I definitely mark Amazon.com as one of my prime shopping places.
Two weeks ago began my quest to get some new reading material. I am one of those gals who is on the constant quest for knowledge. I love reading and learning. I also happen to be a book collector. But not normal books. Not antique collectors quality books, or autographed copies, no those are not for me. I collect anything I can learn from. I probably have thousands of books on various topics I am or was interested in.
I spent $27.62 two weeks ago for fourteen books on several different topics that I am interested in currently. Nine of the books were only a penny, plus a low shipping fee. I do try and stick with the same book seller for as many as I can, so that I can be frugal and save on shipping.
Over this past weekend I purchased a few CD’s and DVD’s that were used. I paid $22.43 for six. They came from three different sellers and were all under $5.00 a piece. (Two arrived today!)
Amazon.com has extremely amazing prices, and sellers are always adding new materials to their online stores.
Of course, being the frugal lady that I am, I’ve also sold my own used books on Amazon.com and turned quite the profit actually. Sometimes I pay less for a book but am able to sell it for more on Amazon.com. A couple of months ago I attempted to sell 21 books on Amazon.com. I sold a total of seventeen of them and made over $100.00. If I had put those books in a garage sale, I’d have probably only made a quarter or fifty cents per book.
So if you are a book guru or someone who just enjoys reading a lot and learning, and you find the need to constantly have new reading material, be sure and check out Amazon.com and their great prices!
And if you find yourself with a lot of books you don’t need or read anymore, don’t forget the wonderful source of Amazon.com to sell those books!
