Healthy Homemade Ice Pops Recipes

homemade popsicles Homemade ice pops or homemade popsicles are super easy to make, economical and can be healthy. Forget simply pouring orange juice into a pop mold. With these recipes, you can make your own gourmet pops that would comparatively sell for $2 or more at the store.

All of these homemade popsicles recipes are free of food coloring, high fructose corn syrup, artificial preservatives and other nasties.

Banana Berry Vegan Pop

This homemade popsicle is so nutritious that you could eat it for breakfast if you wanted to. Just don’t tell the kids.

2 cups vanilla soy milk


1 cup apple juice


2 cups of mixed berries, such as blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, or sliced strawberries


2 ripe bananas


2 cups crushed ice

Place all of the ingredients in blender and puree it until it is smooth. Pour the mixture into ice pop molds and freeze. Adapted from http://www.care2.com/greenliving/super-berry-smoothie-vegan.html

Strawberry Lemonade Pops

1 can frozen lemonade concentrate (12 ounces)

3 cups cold water

1/4 cup raw or cane sugar

1 package frozen sliced strawberries (16 ounces)

Stir together the lemonade, sugar and the water. Puree the strawberries in a blender or food processor, then add them to the lemonade mixture and stir. Pour them into your pop molds and freeze.

Yummy Fudge Pops

If you have a chocolate tooth, you will love these homemade popsicles! This recipe requires a stove, but it is worth it.

3/4 cup raw or cane sugar

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

3-1/2 tablespoons natural baking cocoa

4 cups whole milk

Combine the sugar, cocoa and flour in a saucepan over medium heat. Gradually stir in the milk and keep mixing until it is smooth. Bring the mixture to a boil and continue string for a couple of minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove it from the heat and allow it to cool slightly before pouring it into the molds.
