I am a hopeless snack lover as anyone who has read my articles long enough knows. I am always on the quest for healthy snacks that taste great and satisfy my munchies. I always get hungry writing or relaxing and watching a movie. Yet, I know those are the mindless times you end up eating an entire bag of potato chips if you do not watch out. I do no need the extra calories, fat and chemicals from a bag of greasy processed potato chips no matter how good they may taste during a bit of writer’s block or during a movie. So, my quest for a good snack that was also healthy begun. I have been successful in finding a few different items and SunRidge Farms is included in my list.
SunRidge Farms is located in Pajaro, CA and was founded in 1982. The company is dedicated to green living as evidenced by using 70% solar power in their distribution facility. They have become a Certified Green Business by the Monterey County Green Business Program by working very hard over the course of years. I find that impressive even if I will admit to not being the greenest crayon in the bunch. However, it does speak to their commitment and loyalty to their stand on environment and organic living.
Yes, I often pick to try products by a company based on how I view their character. That will logically relate to the time and effort they put into their products. Because here is the thing; I am not buying something organic if it is not truly organic. Since it is established that the company is committed to clean foods then let’s get to the best part!
Dark Chocolate Almonds: Who can resist roasted almonds covered in dark chocolate? Certainly not me! The almonds were consistent in taste and quality. Super!
Thai Curry Cashews: My husband loves roasted cashews and he loves funky spicy seasoning. I thought they were spicy but a bit too much so for my taste. He thought it was a great blend. Go figure. The quality is awesome so it will depend on how spicy you like your spicy.
Organic Cranberry Harvest: The name alone had me! I love cranberries but add in dark chocolate, apples, almonds, peanuts, and pumpkins seeds and I am in heaven. A great mix to bring as a snack or in a lunch. It is crunchy, sweet, salty and delicious.
So, if you are looking for quality snacking….join me on my quest for the best healthy alternative snacks!
