Hello and welcome to the new Christian Families Blog on Families.com! My name is Lisa Kennedy and I am one of two new co-hosts of the subject of Christian Families.
In this blog I plan to write about the role the Bible plays on the Christian family. I will write about why we need the Bible, ideas to incorporate Bible study in the home, and what the Bible has to say about families. I also want to discuss Science and the Bible, passages in the Bible, and topical issues presented in the Bible.
I am twenty-three years old and have been married to my high school sweetheart for a little over two years. I graduated from Angelo State University with a B.S. in Biochemistry. My husband and I have a mutt that we adopted from a rescue shelter named Ali. We do not have any children yet, but hope to have a big family in the future. We currently reside in Austin, TX. When I am not writing for Families.com I work from home writing questions and tutorials for Chemistry textbooks.
I have been faithfully attending the church of Christ since I was a child. I grew up in a God-centered and family-oriented home. My husband and I have been very active in the church throughout college with such activities as Bible studies, devotionals, and youth retreats. Currently, my husband is attending the Southwest School of Bible Studies. When I am able, I attend some classes with him in addition to a wives’ class held each quarter.
I would really love to know what things you would be interested in reading in the Christian Families blog. I would like the challenge of answering any questions you have, so feel free to ask. I thoroughly enjoy studying the Bible and look forward to the opportunity to share my thoughts with you. Thanks for visiting!
