Beware the Hidden Calories
Many people do not stop and think about how many calories they are drinking away. If you sat down and figured it out you would be surprised. Some think that because it is only liquid it will just run right through you. It does run through you, but while it does it leaves its empty calories behind. Soda, lattes, cappuccinos, sports beverages, just about every drink has a calorie count that could be better spent on valuable food intake. This is especially important if you are dieting because your calorie count is limited. Why waste your calories on beverages?
Holiday Pitfalls
The every day beverages are highly caloric, but holiday beverages are even worse in regards to calorie count. Some of the highest calories come from alcoholic beverages, eggnog, hot chocolate and those delicious cold cappuccino beverages. With the excellent food served around the holidays, adding holiday beverages to the mix could prove to lead to even more of a dieter’s battle around the holidays. If you must have something special to drink during the holiday festivities try to take only a small portion of it. This should be just enough to satisfy your craving.
Water
The best thing one can do for themselves not only around the holidays, but throughout the year is drink water. Water is a dieter’s best friend. It is filling, contains no calories, and is highly recommended as a source of beverage for everyone.
Wasted Calories
Be very careful of your calorie count and select not only your food wisely and concentrating on a great deal of low-calorie vegetables and fruit, but also your beverages. Do not waste your limited calorie intake on soda or other high calorie beverages, but rather food that is not only good for you, good to eat, and fills you up.
