He’s an award-winning actor, a world-famous comedian, and an accomplished author and now the legendary Bill Cosby is adding another line to his resume—recording artist.
The 70-year-old actor is just a few weeks away from releasing his first hip-hop album, but don’t expect to hear The Cosby Show star to rap on any of the tracks. The advocate of higher education has long claimed rap has a “negative” influence on society and didn’t want to taint his album with a sound that he says is “profane for no reason.”
The actor’s new CD, Cosby Narratives Vol. 1: State of Emergency, blends funny stories with a hip-hop, pop and jazz soundtrack.
According to Cosby, “(The album is) the opposite of what I think is the profanity for no particular reason, the misogyny for no particular reason. It really looks at the frustration and the anger that a young man may have.”
The actor is hoping his fans embrace his latest project because he says he doesn’t want this record to be his last.
Cosby Narratives Vol. 1: State of Emergency is scheduled for release next month.
While Little Bill’s creator celebrates the launch of his new project Spice Girl Victoria Beckham is experiencing the lows of stardom.
It appears the rail-thin fashionista couldn’t connect with regular-sized women. According to reports, Beckham’s dVb denim line is being pulled from several top retailers, including L.A.’s famous Fred Segal and Kitson boutiques because of lack of interest by customers.
Shop owners blame the disinterest on Beckham’s apathy toward her own fashion line. Kitson owner Fraser Ross recently told PEOPLE Magazine that Beckham has done nothing to support her line.
“In a tough economy, you need to be in partnership with the people that are selling your line to your fans, Ross told the magazine.
Ironically, Kitson’s owner says Victoria lives fifteen minutes from the store and comes in to shop for herself.
Apparently, she’s not buying her own jeans and no one else is either.
