Hitting those White Sales

Frankly, I don’t hear the term White Sale used as often as I used to. Some stores still use the term but I remember white sales being huge events when I was little. My mom made a day of it. Still, we all know what white sale means and we know that we can find some great deals on bedding and bath items in many colors and styles when these or similar sales emerge. The good news is such sales are not only in the springtime any more.

I also do my best to use what’s on sale in other ways. For example, when bath sheets are on sale, you can often pick them up for a lot less than the cost of beach towels, and use them instead. They’re about the same size (some are exactly the same size) and if I can get nice, thick ones for several dollars less, I consider it a great find.

If you’re worried that your kids would prefer trademark character beach towels, you might go ahead and pick out a few special beach towels for the little ones and just grab bath sheets for everyone else. I usually look for each family member’s favorite color.

Recently, beach towels were on sale at a store near us for $10 – 15. Bath sheets were on sale at the same time, and in a variety of colors, for half price (around $4 -6). With six people to buy beach towels for that adds up. You can either pocket the savings or pick up an extra set of beach towels. I think I’m going to go back for more so we’ll have extras when we go camping.

Another great find is sheets. They can be used to make tablecloths so you’ll have an assortment of colors and they also make great curtains and accent pillow covers.
