Holiday Cookie Exchange

If you love cookie, eating or baking, try this fun idea from kraftfoods. Host a cookie exchange. This would give you a chance to expand your recipe collection. The idea of a cookie exchange is to have everyone bake and bring a cookie of their choice that they would like to share with everyone. With all of the extra cookies, you don’t have to slave in the kitchen all day. You can enjoy your holiday too.

Here are some tips on how to host a cookie exchange:
Pick a date. Two weeks before your chosen date, send out invitations to a small group of 6-10 people. Make sure you have them RSVP as soon as possible with the name of the cookie they have chosen. Let everyone know how many people will be attending your cookie exchange so they will have an idea of how many cookies they need to bake. Plan on everyone taking home a half to one dozen of cookies per person. Also ask everyone to copy their recipe to share with everyone.

A day before the cookie exchange, remind everyone to bring a large container to take all of their cookies home. Don’t forget to bake your own cookies up.

This cookie exchange takes the burden and stress off of everyone at this busy time of year. It’s always a good idea to have cookies on hand because people you haven’t seen all year will probably stop in to visit you.

This website also has more suggestions for your cookie exchange. Have a variety of drinks available: coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sparkling water, fruit juices or other beverages. This would be a great time to sample all the many flavors of coffee that are available.
You can donate some of your cookies to those less fortunate, an elderly neighbor or someone who just had surgery. You could host your party at work. If one of your co-workers are ill, choose one or two people to deliver her cookies to her after work.

Be creative and enjoy your holiday season.
