Holidays and Fitness

With the holidays just around the corner, it is more important than ever to be extra diligent regarding your fitness routine. It is so easy to overeat and slack off during this time of the year.

With all of the scrumptious foods and chaos that the holidays entail we find it too easy to overeat and not find time to exercise. Cooking, baking, shopping and holiday gatherings take up a great deal of our time that some people tend to put exercise on the back burner. It is a busy time and important to spend time with the people that you care for, but letting your regular exercise regimen slide will put on added pounds and decrease your flexibility.

By all means do spend time with the people near and dear to you and enjoy this festive season and its meaning in your life. However, do not fall victim to a decrease in your health by letting your fitness suffer.

Some helpful hints to keep up your fitness routine:

*Stick to your fitness schedule by planning your other holiday duties and events
around it.
*When holiday events involving food are presented to you be aware of what you
are eating. Mindless eating will result in added weight gain.
*Enjoy your food and eat all of your favorites. This holiday extravaganza comes
but once a year and it is filled with tasty food. However, consider sampling
instead of a regular portion size. Portion control is key. Take a little of this and a
little of that. Moderate yourself and be on your toes.
*Make sure to exercise at least 3 to 4 times a week. Take the time and make the
effort to keep fit. Be extremely cautious in this regard.
*Your health is important so do not neglect it. There will be many more years of
festivities in your lifetime if you do.
