Ricky Martin really is “Livin’ La Vida Loca” now that he is the single parent of twin boys.
Who knew his hit song would be so prophetic.
The 36-year-old singer apparently got tired of waiting for the perfect partner and decided to hire a surrogate to carry his new twin sons.
In a statement released to the public yesterday Martin’s rep confirmed that the children (whose names have not been released) were delivered via gestational surrogacy, and are “healthy and already under Ricky’s full-time care.”
The statement also revealed that the actor-musician will spend the rest of the year in an undisclosed location raising his children out of the public spotlight.
Interestingly, when rumors spread of Martin’s impending parenthood earlier this year critics scoffed at the notion that he would go through with the surrogacy.
I guess he showed them.
Joining Martin in his desire to lay low for a while is actor Matt Damon. The hunky movie star announced today that he plans to take the rest of the year off to spend with his wife and their three daughters.
Daughter No.3—Gia Zavala—was born yesterday.
According to Damon’s rep, the newest addition to the clan is “healthy and happy” as is mom Luciana.
The Damon’s will reportedly take their new daughter home from the hospital tomorrow where she will join big sisters Alexia, 10 (from Luciana’s previous relationship) and Isabella, 2.
In a recent interview with USA Today, Damon joked that living with so many females is a bit overwhelming saying, “I’m so outnumbered here, it’s crazy.”
Former NFL player Jason Sehorn can relate to Damon’s situation.
The handsome athlete is married to actress Angie Harmon and has two daughters Finley, 4, and Avery, 3… and possibly a third little girl on the way.
Yesterday Sehorn’s rep announced that 36-year-old Harmon is pregnant with the couple’s third child, though the sex of the baby has yet to be determined.
In six months we’ll know if Sehorn and Damon will be in the same boat.
