So much for their rumored summer wedding… Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson have gone their separate ways.
The 39-year-old actor and the 28-year-old actress reportedly split just before Memorial Day weekend. According to PEOPLE magazine, the two are “still friends” but are no longer romantically involved.
No word on what caused the split, but the timing seems a bit odd (at least to those who had been hinting of a summer wedding between the golden haired pair). After all, it was just a few months ago that the two (who met when filming 2006’s “You, Me, and Dupree”) went public with their relationship. First they were spotted frolicking in Hawaii together then they were seen strolling the beach in Australia, and nuzzling at a Santa Monica restaurant. And just a few weeks ago the pair was seen holding hands at Wilson’s latest movie premiere.
The latest event is what prompted one of Wilson’s famous brothers to hint that Hudson would soon be a permanent part of the family. I guess she had other plans.
Apparently so did Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. According to the actor, he and wife Dany Garcia Johnson have separated.
“While certain aspects of our relationship have changed, we are both vitally important to each other’s lives,” the pair said in a joint statement to the media.
SIGH! Here we go again… yet another finely polished statement by a couple that promises to remain a “loving team” as they raise their 5-year-old daughter together. I have a hard time comprehending how people who can profess their “love and admiration” for each other in announcing their separation are indeed… separating to begin with.
Johnson and his wife have been together for 17 years. They are business partners, parents, and also share a charity together… but they don’t want to be married to one another. However, they want the world to know that they “look forward to spending the rest our lives together as best friends and business partners.”
Hmmm… I must be missing something here.
