Still no sign of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s twins, but to keep public interest high in the double spawn of Brangelina Us Weekly has the famous Hollywood parents front and center on the cover of this week’s magazine with the headline: “IT WAS IN VITRO!”
According to the periodical, Jolie “conceived through in vitro fertilization” in order to conceive 2-week-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
A well-placed source within the Jolie-Pitt camp tells Us, the handsome couple “desperately wanted babies quickly.”
The magazine then has doctors weighing in on Jolie’s chances of conceiving twins naturally. According to one reproductive specialist, the chance of conceiving fraternal twins naturally at Jolie’s age—33—is less than one percent. But with in vitro fertilization the chances increase to 25 percent.
Sources tell the magazine that the actress chose the procedure (which can cost around $20,000 a pop) so “she could just knock out two at once.” Another source added that the pair was “impatient.”
Us then points to statements Jolie made last year regarding the big brood she and Pitt want to raise.
“If we’re going to have 10 kids, we’d like to raise them while we’re young,” she told Elle U.K.
Brad Pitt turns 45 in December and sources tell the magazine the pair wants to reach their goal of having 10 children before he turns 50.
In addition to the twins, the good-looking duo also has Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2.
So did she or didn’t she?
Angelina Jolie strikes me as someone who would willing admit to having in vitro fertilization treatments, so I’m not sure if I buy Us’ story. However, if Angie wants lessons on how to go public with her fertility struggles all she needs to do is call “Dixie Chick” Martie Maguire for advice.
The singer has made no secret of the challenges she and her husband faced while attempting to conceive their children, including the daughter she gave birth to less than 24 hours ago.
According to reports, Harper Rosie Maguire arrived Friday, July 25th, in Austin, Texas weighing in at 7 lbs, 10 oz and 20.5 inches long. Baby Harper joins 4-year-old fraternal twin big sisters Eva Ruth and Kathleen Emilie, who were also conceived through in vitro fertilization.
