Now that we took care of the losers, I thought it would be interesting to focus on some celebrities, who for some reason or another are able to keep their winning streak alive.
I’ll start with Candy Spelling. With a name like that you would think that she lives a sweet life… and you’d be right.
Tori’s mommy dearest has got to be one of the luckiest women in the world (at least financially). Not only did she inherit zillions when her Hollywood TV mogul husband passed away a couple of years ago, but the woman has an unbelievable talent when it comes to taking on one-armed bandits.
Last week Spelling did what only a handful of people on the planet have ever done–she hit the jackpot in Las Vegas—-AGAIN!
According to reports, Liam’s granny was sitting in the Bellagio Hotel playing the high limit slots (up to $1,000 a pull) when $180,000 came pouring out of the slot machine she was nursing.
Okay, so 180 grand probably only covers the cost of her weekly manicures, but still, money is money and this woman knows how to rake it in by barely lifting a finger.
Ordinarily news of a multi-gazillionaire adding less than $200,000 to her wallet wouldn’t be all that blogworthy, but when you consider that Spelling hit her latest jackpot exactly one year to the day that she walked away with nearly a quarter of a million dollars from the slots at the same hotel casinoAND a new car, then that’s worth some page space.
Some people have all the luck…
Speaking of lucky, Sal Carbone is far from a Hollywood celeb, but he’s still a winner in my book.
The New York chowhound has just been named the state’s fastest pizza eater.
Earlier this week Carbone inhaled more than 15 slices of pizza to beat his own record in an eating contest at Rocco’s Pizzeria.
The Brooklyn resident also won last year’s installment of the annual contest, which raises money for a local child-welfare organization.
Carbone went up against four other voracious eaters and wolfed down three more slices than his nearest competitor.
Fifteen pieces of pizza in less than 5 minutes—WHOA!
That’s quite an accomplishment—-any way you slice it.
