Their child didn’t win the title of Hollywood’s first baby of 2008, but actor Daniel Baldwin and his wife Joanne Smith-Baldwin are thrilled just the same. The couple welcomed a daughter into the world very early yesterday morning.
The actor told news reporters that Avis Ann Baldwin was born Thursday at 12:59 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 10 oz.
Avis’ mom and is a 38-year-old former British fashion model turned chef, who met Daniel last year during his stint in an exclusive drug and alcohol rehab facility in Malibu. At the time, Joanne worked as a chef at the facility. The couple married last July 28th a few months after Joanne found out she was carrying Daniel’s child.
Baby Avis is Daniel’s fourth child and Joanne’s first.
In other baby news Britain’s Prince Charles is a grandpa… again.
The new addition to the family doesn’t come courtesy of Prince William or his brother Prince Harry; rather the baby was conceived by Laura Lopes—-the daughter of Camilla Parker Bowles and stepdaughter of Prince Charles.
Lopes and her husband Harry welcomed their first child on Wednesday, according to British newspapers. The baby girl was born in London, but a name and birth details have not yet been released.
This is the second granddaughter for Camilla. Just three months ago her son Tom welcomed a daughter Lola Rosalind.
Finally, rumor has it that newly engaged actor Josh Duhamel and his hot fiancée Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson could soon be hearing the pitter-patter of tiny footsteps as well.
That is if you read into a recent gift the couple received from the mayor of Las Vegas.
According to a New York newspaper, at a party to commemorate the 100th episode of his hit NBC show “Las Vegas,” Duhamel received a rumor-sparking present from Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman. After Goodman presented the entire cast with the key to the city, the mayor then reportedly gave Duhamel a tiny pair of Crocs sandals for his “future baby with Fergie.”
No word on whether the shoes are for a baby Fergie is carrying now or one the couple hopes to conceive after their wedding, which is scheduled to take place sometime this year.
