Hollywood’s Newest Moms

She’s been hosting TV’s “Access Hollywood” for years, but now Nancy O’Dell has a new gig she says knows little about—-being a new mom.

According to the entertainment show’s website, O’Dell and her husband Keith Zubchevich welcomed a baby girl, Ashby Grace earlier today at a Los Angeles hospital. The couple’s bundle of joy weighed in at 7 lbs., 9 oz. and measured 22 inches long.

The occasion was made even more special as baby Ashby was born on O’Dell’s father’s birthday.

“She made for quite a birthday present to her new grandfather,” the new mom said.

But the family connections don’t stop there… Ashby is named after her great-grandfather and her middle name comes from the church where O’Dell’s parents were married, Grace United Methodist Church in Union, South Carolina. Grace also happens to be a common name in Zubchevich’s family.

Another first time celebrity mom is speaking out about her recent addition to the family–actress Keisha Castle-Hughes is telling all about what life is like being a mom at 17.

Castle-Hughes tells an Australian magazine that she didn’t expect the tremendous amount of media attention her pregnancy garnered.

“Absolutely everyone in the country had something to say about it. I thought, ‘At the end of the day, I am going to be the one looking after this baby in the middle of the night and it doesn’t affect you,’ ” Castle-Hughes told the magazine.

(Apparently, the Oscar nominated actress failed to take into consideration she has some old fashioned fans who may think being pregnant and unwed at 17 is a bit “untraditional.” Frankly, I am surprised she is surprised that her fellow countrymen would be “talking” about her situation.)

Castle-Hughes and her boyfriend of four years, 20-year-old Bradley Hull, welcomed daughter Felicity-Amore last month and rationalized being pregnant at 17 this way: “Yes, I was scared when I found out I was pregnant. But if I got pregnant when I was 27, I would have been scared too because it is a huge step.”

As for adding to her family—-Castle-Hughes says she plans to hold off on getting pregnant again. The actress says her daughter will have to be content playing with Castle-Hughes’ own siblings Rhys, 15, Liam, 11, Maddisyn, 6, and Qayde, 11 months.
