I have discussed the illegal immigration problem in the past, and some people were not too happy with my take on the situation. I would like to reiterate that my position is not one of dislike or racism toward the Mexican people. My position is one of protecting our homeland for today and for future generations.
Again, I have no problem with people who want to come here legally. I understand why they want to live in the greatest nation in the world, and I welcome them –from everywhere- as long as they enter legally. However, even those that only come here to work or to make a new life, end up putting us (and coincidentally, themselves) at very real risk. Because we don’t want to treat them like enemies, we are leaving our borders exposed to manipulation by our true enemies. Both governments need to develop safe ways for people to come here legally.
A report released today discusses how our border patrol is outmanned and outgunned. We’re talking automatic assault weapons, bazookas, and grenade launchers, not to mention IEDs according to the report made by House Homeland Security Oversight Subcommittee. You’ve heard of IEDs. They’re “improvised explosive devices,” like the ones being used against our military in Iraq. Well, now they’re also being used on our own border.
There have also been reports stating that some Mexican soldiers help gangs and cartels. These people are not only smuggling in weapons, drugs, and good people who want to come here to make a life. They are also smuggling in terrorists and making it easier for weapons of mass destruction to breach our borders.

On top of all this, Venezuela is obviously not a friend to the U.S. and it is taking advantage of the border situation. It has been reported that terrorists have come there to learn how to create a new appearance and learn to speak Spanish, and are also given Venezuelan passports to get them into this country via Mexico. Some of those people include members of Hezbollah, as was reported on Fox News this morning.
This isn’t about political correctness. It isn’t about disliking certain people. Make no mistake; it is very much about securing our homeland.
