Ready for the rest of the weekly cleaning chores? It is Monday, which is a great day of the week to get started, if you haven’t already been following our home chore lists.
Just to recap, here is the list of the weekly chores that we have so far. You can check out the previous article, Home Chore List: Weekly Cleaning Chores (1) to get details about these chores, including tips that will make them easier to tackle. And don’t worry, at the end of the series, we will have an easy to print lisk of all of the chore tasks.
Dust your home
Do the laundry
Clean the bathrooms
Next up, we have just three more chores for the week.
Put out the garbage.
If you have weekly garbage pick up, then you should take out the garbage on that day. We have bi-weekly garbage pick up, but to make life simpler, I just do this task once a week. Don’t worry; I empty the kitchen garbage as needed into the larger trash can that sits outside. But once a week, I also empty the waste baskets and bathroom cans, and clean and/or deodorize the inside garbage cans and baskets as needed.
A great tip for this chore: line your wastebaskets with plastic grocery garbage cans. It makes the cleanup a lot easier.
Sweep the outside.
Don’t neglect the porches and patios of your home. The front entrance is the first impression that people get when they walk in. Once a week, sweep your front porch, back porch, patio, walkway, sidewalks…whatever applies to you. We have a long driveway, so I put sweeping that on my list as well. Usually I get that done while waiting for my eldest son to come home on the school bus, or while the kids play outside.
Vacuum upholstery.
Once a week get all of those crumbs, pet hair, whatever winds up in your upholstery. Remove the couch cushions, vacuum in the seams of your stuffed chairs, and get the dining room chair cushions done. It is amazing how much can hide in your soft furniture in a week.
How are you doing so far? Next up on the chore list? Monthly tasks.
