How often do you edit? If you are a writer like myself, you edit after every article. You remove excess words. You correct errors. You reorganize and you clean up. The same must be done in our homes regularly.
The reasons we must practice home editing is human nature. We live in our space and things get out of order. We purchase new things and add them to what we already have. Before long, our homes get crowded, decorating don’ts just do, and we must clean up and re-arrange to make sense of it all. If you think of your home as a well tuned essay, then the concept of home editing will be clear.
The steps to home editing mirror article editing:
Remove Excess: If you haven’t removed an item from your room every time you purchased a new item, then you have some work to do. Clutter is he biggest barrier to a well decorated room. Here are some articles to help you tackle this problem.

Correct errors: How did that get over there? Has a chair slid over time a foot from where you placed it redirecting the flow of traffic in the room. Have you purchased new accessories that now clash with your walls? Do you have a mis-matched collection of artwork with frames that don’t coordinate. These are decorating don’t that you will need to fix.
Reorganize: Are all of your accessories placed on one cabinet top because of your efforts to keep them away from small children and pets. Are all of the pillows in the room piled on one couch and everything else is forgotten? Are you just ready for a new floor plan? It is time to make some changes and move things around.
