No one wants to lose their home. In the Disney film “Home on The Range” the animals on the farm band together to try and save it from being bought out.
In the movie Maggie the cow voiced by Roseanne, has just come to the farm from a previously broken stable. Her previous farm went under after the rest of the cows in her herd were stolen. Maggie was purchased and brought to this farm and was excited about the possibility of a once again stable home when her new farm is threatened to be bought out.
Along with the help of Buck the horse (Cuba Gooding J.) and the rest of the barnyard animals Maggie and two other cows try to help save the farm from foreclosure and keep their home. The animals get into all sorts of trouble along the way as you might imagine and tend to complicate matters often more than they help them.
I thought this was pretty cute movie. It doesn’t have any huge message and there is nothing that stands out as particularly moving or fantastic about the film, but it isn’t all that bad either. The movie runs just a little over an hour making it the perfect movie for your kids to watch on a car trip, or if they need to be entertained for a little while In the evening without being completely wrapped up in television for the entire night.
Home on the range features a variety of famous voices including Roseanne Barr, Judi Dench, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Steve Buscemi. All of the actors do an amazing job or portraying their respective animals.
There is a little mild peril in the movie but nothing that should be too difficult for a younger child to watch. The movie is rated G and is more than appropriate for children over the age of five.
