Happy New Year! The Families.com blogs began just a little over a year ago, and the first twelve months have been great. Now, we’re excited to kick off a brand new year.
Michele talked about ideas for the New Year in “Giving Your Home a New Year’s Physical.” What about all those resolutions we make? Find out what Michele has to say about it in “New Year Resolutions For Homeowners.” My article, “New Year’s Day: Do You Feel Any Different?” has more to do with how this time of year affects us and our families than it has to do with the physical home. Another article with a bit of a personal context was about my state, Arkansas, “The Natural State: Diamond in the Rough?”
Marjorie has outdone herself with hints, tips, and tricks for cleaning flooring and carpets, from “Removing Carpet Stains” to “Cleaning Those Wooden Floors.” Also, be sure to check out her other articles on flooring:

I would also like to note that Lisa Pietsch offered a great tip when it comes to carpets. She tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on carpet stains on a whim and reported that it worked great! I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like this product.
Last but not least, we also had a few decorating articles this week. “Simple Decorating Ideas Using Wallpaper or Border” gave some tips for creating touches from subtle to whimsical with these materials. I also discussed, “Simple Elegance: 2007 Trend in Home Decorating,” which is now labeled as a new trend but is something many of us have incorporated into our decorating for some time. Then we had, “Playing up the Playroom.” Remember, the most fun spaces to be in are the ones that are the most fun to create!
