Home Week in Review: July 16 – 22

I hope each of you had a great week and I hope you’re having a safe, fun summer. There’s so much to do around the house, but sometimes it can be hard to get motivated when it’s so nice outside. I know I’d rather be outside playing about half the time, but duty calls!

Here’s a list of this week’s topics:

  • On the Scent…
  • Easy Ways to Add More Interest
  • Yes, You Should Call a Home Inspector
  • Painting Techniques of a Different Stripe
  • Vinyl Lettering for the Home
  • Are the Walls Closing In?
  • Home and Garden Question: Washing Machine Odor

The week began with fragrances, in On the Scent…but ended with odors. I detailed different ways to bring fresh fragrances into your home besides using the typical home products. The odor article, Home and Garden Question: Washing Machine Odor, was based on a question from a reader and the answers to the issue are fairly simple (thank goodness, it wasn’t a hard question! I can’t think that hard when it’s so gorgeous outside).

There were also some tips on Easy Ways to Add More Interest in order to change the look and feel of a home without spending a lot of time or money. Adding stripes is a good way to add interest too, as noted in Painting Techniques of a Different Stripe.

Then there were some tips for making rooms feel larger in Are the Walls Closing In?(some of these tips also used stripes), but then the
focus changed to how people can use Vinyl Lettering for the Home to customize different spaces and accessories.

When buying a home, Yes, You Should Call a Home Inspector, to make sure there won’t be any unforeseen problems. There are many things to keep in mind when buying a home, and you can check out a few of them in the Your New Home category.

Please stop back next week for more tips and ideas.
