Home Week in Review: Oct. 29 – Nov. 4

This week, Mary Ann finished up her great series on common mistakes people make when attempting do-it-yourself home improvement projects, giving us the final two installments number 6 and last but not least 7 Common DIY Mistakes (7).

These are recommended reading for anyone with an interest in DIY projects. There are also several other do it yourself and home improvement articles, as well as articles on nearly any other home and garden topic you can think of Home Blog, including holidays and holiday decorating (different writers have contributed over the years, so don’t forget to check out some of our past articles as well as all the new ones for some great ideas and helpful tips).

Of course, we had some holiday articles this week with information and ideas that we hope you will like, starting with Happy Halloween (or Harvest!) earlier in the week, and winding up the week with What Will You Splurge on for Thanksgiving?

Fresh flowers are a favorite splurge of mine, and Mary Ann has just the article for others you enjoy fresh flowers: Pretty Party Vases. And, don’t miss out on learning how to Carve a Friendly Pumpkin or reading how Black Friday Comes Early this year.

Have you noticed all the great sales lately? From early holiday sales to Seasonal Sale Finds, you can find lots of great stuff for your home and family and discounted prices this time of year.

Scented candles fall colors Since it’s fall, I guess we should talk about leaves, or maybe When to Use a Leaf Blower. What about Mulching Leaves? And, if we’re going to mention leaves, we can’t leave out trees, such as Japanese Maple Trees, and don’t forget the plants. You might enjoy some great House Plant Tips.

When you are done with all the fun stuff, you may be thinking you should get back to cleaning and other chores (like me). If so, maybe these Five Quick Cleaning Tips will come in handy.

Only 18 days left until Thanksgiving! Please check back soon for more tips and ideas.
