Homemade Fudge

My first batch of fudge turned out to have the consistency of a semi melted tootsie roll. That was over ten years ago. Since then, I have learned several new ways to make this delicious treat. Although, it is not a recipe to make if you are dieting. I’m sorry for the temptation. Try one of these recipes to see which one you like the best.

Recipe #1: Fudge in a pan

You will need:

2 and 1/2 Cups of sugar

1 stick of butter

6 ounce can mlk

6 ounce package chocolate chips

1 cup of chopped pecans

1 teaspoon of vanilla

What you need to do:

Mix together sugar, butter and milk in a heavy frying pan, ( I use my iron skillet). Bring these ingredients to a full boil. Reduce heat to low and then cook for six minutes, stir occasionally. Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips and nuts. Stir until fudge begins to form. Immediately add the vanilla flavoring. Drop the fudge by a teaspoon onto waxed paper. Let it cool. Enjoy!

Recipe #2: A million dollar Fudge

What you need:

4 and 1/2 Cups of sugar

1 can of milk

1 large jar of marshmallow cream

2 teaspoon of vanilla

1/2 pound of butter, equal to 2 sticks of butter

1 large bag of chocolate chips

any kind of nuts, if desired

What to do:

Mix together sugar, butter and milk and bring to a boil for eight minutes.
Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and marshmallow cream. Combine thoroughly. Finally, add the vanilla and nuts, if desired and mix well. It will have a glossy shine to it at this stage. Pour into a greased pan. Let it set until firm and then cut into squares. Enjoy!
