Forget about draining your wallet paying for professional spa services, with a little creativity you can enjoy a day of pampering without leaving home.
Now, doesn’t that sound fun?
Still, not convinced?
These simple homemade spa ideas don’t take much time or money to create, yet they will leave you feeling like a million bucks:
HOMEMADE BATH SALTS
Materials:
2 cups Epsom salt
1 cup sea salt
Large bowl
1/4 teaspoon glycerin
Food coloring
Essential oil
Directions:
Combine two cups of Epsom salt with one cup of sea salt in a large glass bowl. Next, add 1/4 teaspoon glycerin and a few drops of food coloring. You want to go easy on the food coloring as you don’t want to stain your tub. Then, add four or five drops of an essential oil, such as lavender, rose, or vanilla. Mix all of the ingredients together. Use 1/3 to 1/2 cup in each bath. Store leftovers in a sealed glass jar.
THERAPEUTIC NECK WRAP
Materials:
Soft fabric
Dry, uncooked rice
Dried lavender or rosemary
Bowl
Sewing machine
Directions:
Cut the fabric into a rectangle about 24 inches long by 10 inches wide.
Fold the fabric in half lengthwise. Sew a seam along one short side and the long side, creating a long bag.
Turn the bag right side out.
In a bowl, mix together the rice and the dried herbs. Pour the rice mixture into the fabric.
Turn the raw edges in, and sew up the remainder of the bag.
To use: Place neck wrap in the microwave and heat for 30 seconds. Remove and place around neck or any other body part that is tender.
COFFEE BODY SCRUB
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons organic coffee grounds
1 tablespoon sea salt
Directions:
Brew a fresh pot of coffee. Immediately place coffee grounds and salt in a small bowl. Scrub mixture over entire body while in the shower. Rinse, dry, and then moisturize.
