Mantle Ministries, founded by Richard Wheeler (of Little Bear fame), is the maker of Christian Based Historical Novels and recordings, both fictional and non-fiction. Accompanying these materials are dolls, frontier mementoes, and other materials that immerse the child into history.
Mapping the World by Heart is a geography curriculum. The maker, David Smith’s Mapping.com, also has accompanying books like If the World Were a Village, Atlases, Almanacs, and other reference tools. Mapping the World is a “complete and proven approach to teaching geography” and promises that your child will be able to draw detailed maps from memory.
Marvelous Math for Windows is a CD ROM math facts review program. It is meant to be used for 15 minutes a day to ensure that your child masters his or her math facts. This program was written by a homeschool father who felt his kids needed consistent math review.
Mastering Mathematics allows students to master math one skill at a time, instead of one grade at a time. It has a balanced approach, which includes manipulative, workbooks, and games. In addition, “word problems come from the Bible, everyday practical usages, and the Guinness World Book of Records. All materials are correlated with the California Achievement Test (C.A.T.) so no necessary skills are omitted”
Math 4 Today is a supplemental math workbook that will add daily math drills to a curriculum that is missing it is designed for a child to do four problems a day for 4 days, and on the fifth day, take a 10-problem test.
Math Blasters is a series of educational games for 6 – 12 year olds. It helps to passively reinforce math lessons while playing. (You will want to purchase as current a version as possible to ensure computer compatibility. Older versions do not work well with newer machines).
Math Facts Now is a program that identifies where your child is having problems in multiplication and other basic math fact, and teaches them those facts for long-term retention.
