Welcome to the Wonderful World of Geography, by Brenda Runkle allows students to geography. The books teach by way of lessons that include vocabulary, charts, photographs and more. Teachers’ guides are also available.

What Your ____ Grader Needs to Know by E.D. Hirsch can be used as a guide for children from Kindergarten to grade 6. The books detail everything a child in each grade would need to know on a national level. This includes excerpts for books the children should read, and a math guide. Also included is science, social studies, and fine arts.

Wiley Publishing is the maker of the famous or infamous “Dummies” series. The books cover topics such as Everyday Computing, Advanced Computing, The Internet, Spanish, Language Arts and much more. The Dummies Books are excellent refreshers can be used to learn the basics clearly and easily.

Winston Grammar teaches the structure of language and allows students to comprehend the principles of traditional grammar. “The Winston Program uses innovative means to achieve conventional ends. It does away with the traditional grammar textbook, lecture approach, and heavy emphasis on memorization.” This program can be used by schools or individually.

Winter Promise is a literature-based approach to learning. There are four basic programs with each teaching “history or science books, pleasure reading, activities, research resources, Bible study, additional resource suggestions, map work, timeline building, and note booking.”

Wordly Wise is a spelling program originally written in 1967. Each lesson has four sections with the fifth section being test day. It is a consumable workbook. This program is said to have a higher caliber of word lists that is advanced, though not attainable. There is an emphasis on word origins and derivatives.
