Math Fundamentals

Math Fundamentals is a series of books used to complement a basic math curriculum. It allows the child to interact with the learning environment to help them process, understand, and apply math skills.

Math Relief is a video program to help relieve the confusion of Algebra for children and parents. Phase 1 teaches the major topics of math as in pre-algebra. Phase 2 teaches more in depth math topics to help the student fully understand algebra. Phase 1 and 2 equate to a full algebra credit. Phase 3 is optional teaches advanced algebra topics.

Math-it is a series of game boards that helps the student learn addition, subtraction and computation. It is as supplement to an existing math curriculum.

Math U See is a popular math curriculum that enables parents to teach their students to be confident problem solvers and to master math. Instead of using memorization to learn math, Math U See uses tools to help students comprehend math. Math U see is available for all levels through pre-calculus, and has a personal finance volume as well.

Mavis Beacon Typing by Broderbund is software based program that teaches typing. It will monitor progress, flag weak spots, and challenge your student to improve typing skills.

McGuffey Readers have been used by 1836 to teach reading instruction. There are seven volumes beginning with the primer that teaches the alphabet and phonics based lessons. “Assuming that a child’s brain reacts to what is fed into it, and that his entire life is thereby influenced, educators of the McGuffey era provided the most wholesome fare available. Material in the readers is taken from writings which extol, explain, and illustrate such virtues as honesty, charity, thrift, hard work, courage, patriotism, reverence for God, and respect for parents.”

MCP Phonics (Modern Curriculum Press Phonics) readers are stories that are phonetically controlled to help students learn, practice and apply their phonics lessons.
