Getting involved with other homeschoolers is very important to a family’s success in homeschooling It is important to join a homeschool network or support group in your area, There are also many homeschooling groups as well as many homeschooling classes, and programs that your students can enjoy. In this series, we are covering homeschool groups and resources across the country. This installment is part 1 for Illinios A-H

Association of Peoria Area Christian Home Educators (APACHE) The vision of APACHE is To provide education and information to parents, to provide activities to assist parents in their efforts, and to promote understanding and acceptance of home schooling as an excellent means of education.

At Our Own Pace-IL This is a nonsectarian group for Illinois parents who homeschool their children with special needs. Parents share methods, ideas, techniques, problems, and general support.

CWF is a co-op of families that meet weekly (Mondays) during the spring and fall semesters at at Grace Evangelical Church in Elgin. A wide variety of enrichment classes are offered.

College of DuPage Youth Education Homeschool Enrichment Taught by experienced and qualified instructors, this home enrichment program provides affordable courses throughout the traditional school year for students grades 3-12, including literature, writing, science labs, mathematics, robotics, economics and so much more!

Crestwood Cavalry is a homeschool basketball organization. We currently have boys primary, junior high, junior varsity, and varsity.

Crossroads Area Homeschool Association (CAHSA)
CAHSA unites Central Illinois homeschoolers in and around Bloomington/Normal. The public website provides info about activities & resources available to both religious and secular homeschoolers, including our curriculum resource center, formal homeschool prom, graduation, choir, and many educational activities.

Family of Christian Home Educators (FOCHE) A Christian, family-oriented homeschool group whose membership can be found in St. Clair County, Macoupin County, as well as Madison County. We meet every other month informally to encourage, answer questions, and support beginning homeschoolers.

Grassroots Homeschoolers H.O.U.S.E.
We are a non-profit organization offering meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wed from Sept through June, a monthly newsletter, field trips, clubs, activities, and more. Open to all!

Home Educators Loving Parents (HELP) A Christian group that seeks to provide opportunities that relate to the education of children and support of families. Our supportive efforts include time set aside for fellowship and encouragement through supportive speakers and discussions and also through offerings of resources, workshops, field trips and group activities.

Home Oriented Unique Schooling Experience (HOUSE) Illinois HOUSE is a statewide network of support groups for people involved in homeschooling. We provide email and phone support about issues related to Illinois homeschooling.

Homeschool Resource Center The Homeschool Resource Center exists to provide information, encouragement, fellowship, and resources to Christian homeschooling families. The Center also hosts periodic events that support homeschooling and home discipleship.
