Getting involved with other homeschoolers is very important to a family’s success in homeschooling It is important to join a homeschool network or support group in your area, There are also many homeschooling groups as well as many homeschooling classes, and programs that your students can enjoy. In this series, we are covering homeschool groups and resources across the country. This installment will cover Indiana homeschool groups and resources, I-M.
Illiana Homeschool Society
A group of homeschool families joining together to promote socialization and education. All families are welcome.
Indiana Association of Home Educators
This is a service organization with the primary function of maintaining visibility as home educators with civil government leaders, influencing the legislative process, sponsoring seminars for parent education, and publishing The IAHE Informer.
Indiana Home Educators’ Network The largest statewide network of homeschoolers, IHEN also manages the largest discussion e-list in the state: IndianaHomeschoolers. IHEN has been Helping Hoosiers Homeschool since the turn of the century.
Indianapolis Eastside Golden Eagles Sports Club This is a Christ-centered organization offering homeschool boys’ competitive basketball, ages 11 to 18.
Indianapolis Homeschool Wildcats Sports Club Based in Indianapolis, is a Christian homeschool organization offering competitive basketball programs for boys in 4th through 12th grade as well as junior high and varsity cheerleading for girls.
Indy Silver Lightning serves homeschool girls 11-18 who want to play volleyball at a competitive level. This club has been around since 2000 and practices in Indianapolis.
Life Education And Resource Network (LEARN) LEARN is a homeschooling support group that is not affiliated with any religious or political group or philosophy. They welcome any educational method chosen by the member families. They have sub-groups for special interests, including a very active teenager group.
LIFE Learning Center Homeschool Committee Provides a wide variety of homeschool activities for east central Indiana homeschoolers, including weekly co-op classes, teen group, thespians theatre program, field trips, special events like talent show, spring picnic, back to school ice cream social, etc. We have a building with homeschool resource room, gym, computer lab, art room, classrooms, etc.
Live and Learn Fort Wayne
Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana This is an inclusive home schooling group offering activities for kids and topical discussion for parents. All ages, all home schooling styles and all faiths welcomed.
Michiana Community Homeschool Family Support
Serving the Michiana area of Indiana and Michigan Provides a network of support to families who are homeschooling their children, without regard to religious/spiritual, political, educational philosophies, curriculum choices (or not), or ages of the children. Activities include Co-Ops, Park Days, Field Trips, and Teacher’s Night Out.
