Involvement with other homeschoolers is very important to a family’s success in homeschooling. Joining a homeschool network or support group in your area will make a difference in your homeschooling journey. You can find homeschooling groups as well as many homeschooling classes, and programs that your students can enjoy. In this series, we are covering homeschool groups and resources across the country. This installment will cover Kentucky homeschool groups and resources A-G.
Audubon Christian Homeschool Co-Op is a support group with a family like atmosphere. Members are from Henderson, Webster, and Union County and meet every Friday offering classes like Art, Music, and PE, Student Newspaper, KY History and so much more for homeschoolers aged nursery through Senior Year. Bluegrass Homeschool Learning Co-operative Inc., is a secular, inclusive, nonprofit group which offers support and opportunities to all homeschooling families in the Lexington area. We offer classes, have clubs, field trips and social gatherings for parents and children.
Bluegrass Regional Independent Christian Co-op (BRICC) This is a Christian homeschool co-op featuring co-op enrichment classes on Friday afternoons along with field trips, fellowship opportunities (parties, field day, recognition ceremony, etc.), community service opportunities, and more.
Central Kentucky Homeschool Association encourages and helps homeschoolers with state law info and curriculum info. Share ideas on how to homeschool after highschool with state-approved college classes at home via the Internet.
Christian Home Educators of Kentucky (CHEK)
Provides state and national homeschool Information resources, Legislative action, child protection resources.
Christian Homeschool Network of KY This group consists of homeschooling families from Clark, Fayette, Bourbon, Madison, Montgomery, and Powell counties.
Cincinnati Area Teaching Children at Home (CATCH) is a totally inclusive, non-directed, community-based home education support organization. Membership is open to anyone. Enjoy events and activities, resources, discuss issues, and establish links with other homeschoolers.
Cumberland Christian Home Educators is a Christian homeschool support group for South Central Kentucky. They offer weekly enrichment classes for all ages, monthly field trips, an annual science fair, geography fair, fine arts night, spelling bee, graduation, formal high school banquet and Getting Started meeting. Christian Home-Educators of the Bluegrass (CHB) is a full-service homeschool support group based in Lexington but serving all of Central Kentucky. They offer field trips, standardized testing, Learning Zone, community services, mentoring, mom’s night out, area and national discounts, extra curricular opportunities, online forum, seasonal socials, bees, academic contests and more.
East-Central Kentucky LIFE (Learning In a Family Environment) is a group that includes families from Powell, Clark, Estill, and Montgomery counties and other surrounding counties. They go on several field trips each year, have holiday parties, field days, park days, skating parties, etc.
Estill County Christian Homeschool Organization (ECCHO) Is a group that enjoys getting together for field trips, days at the library, encouraging one another, and letting others know about homeschooling. This group is open to surrounding counties.
FAITH Homeschool Group This is a Christian group located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. They are open to membership from all denominations as long as potential members agree with and sign the Statement of Faith.
Free Range Homeschool Co-Op This is a secular learning co-op serving Homeschoolers in Louisville and Kentuckiana. This group was started by moms on the Freerange Homeschoolers list who wanted to enhance their home education experiences through active learning opportunity with other children.
Greater Cincinnati Home Schoolers This list is intended to provide a means of communicating with each other for the purpose of supporting our homeschooling efforts.
