This is the question I asked after reading the Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) report about a recent city festival in Shreveport Louisiana recently tried to bar homeschoolers from competing in the yearly competitions because they thought it would be unfair to the children that went to public school.

What do Children’s Pageants and Homeschooling Have in Common? by Andrea Hermitt
I wrote this post sitting in a hotel lobby at a children’s pageant waiting for my daughter to finish dance rehearsal. I found it interesting that a mom of a pageant girl would have a negative reaction to homeschooling knowing that pageant moms also get negative reactions. This post draws the parallels between homeschooling and children’s pageants.
