Hot Home Style Trends

Want to keep up with the Jones or just be aware of the latest style and options when it comes to your home? Read on to find out what home style trends are soon to be hot.

Green Flooring

Overall, homes are getting greener. And way of doing this is with cool new flooring that can be a status symbol. Remember how everyone had to have (and still does) marble countertops in the kitchen? Well, underfoot, it is all going to be about natural and recycled materials. Some of the hottest options are still unique with great textures and designs. Look into flooring made of cork, bamboo and recycled glass. You’ll pay a bit more for these materials, but hey you’re saving the environment, and they look really good, too.

Kitchen Countertops

Speaking of kitchen countertops…while marble is still here to stay, many new homes and kitchen renovations are going with concrete countertops instead. This makes sense, as the industrial look of the countertops goes well in a modern kitchen full of stainless steal appliances and efficient use of space. The concrete can be tinted for different effects, so there is a range of looks available, and it is a bit less expensive than marble slabs.

The Great Outdoors

If you combine that green and natural world sensibility with the idea of concrete, you can head outdoors where natural rock and stamped concrete ground is starting to be seen. Tumbled “old world” cobblestones, and mature trees and bushes are giving backyards a sort of sophisticated “prehistoric oasis” look, especially when you pair them with modern conveniences such as camp-fire style fire pits and speakers that look like natural rock. I’ve even seen this look done in little sections of developments, as people turn away from the modern outside, just as they are embracing it inside.

What do you think of these hot home style trends? Will you incorporate some or all into your home?
