In a previous blog I told you about a hot new trend in the hotel industry–hypoallergenic guest rooms. Now, it seems even resorts located in parts of the world with some of the cleanest air are giving you the option to breathe deep… and live pure. (Pure as in PURE air.) The Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu has just adopted the PURE system, allowing guests to stay in an allergy-friendly environment. Currently, all guest rooms and the Presidential Suite have been converted to the system and in the coming months the indoor meeting facilities and the hotel’s spa will also be converted.
As I mentioned in my previous blog the Pure Solutions system ensures hotel air conditioners are deep-cleaned and sanitized, then equipped with a natural antiseptic and disinfectant. A special spray is then applied on guest room surfaces to minimize bacterial growth, while an air purification system delivers air quality four times cleaner than the threshold for asthma patients. The room is then fitted with hypoallergenic pillowcases and mattress covers to eliminate dust and dander.
The travel deal: Marriott says it will not be charging guests extra for breathing in the PURE air, and in fact are currently offering affordable summer rates.
About 45 minutes away from the Ihilani in Waikiki, the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa is making me want to spend my birthday on Oahu. The resort is offering a travel deal that runs through August 31st.
For guests and non-guests celebrating a special occasion from birthdays (my birthday is in August), family reunions, bridal showers, retirement, and anniversaries to class reunions and baby showers, the Hilton is offering a special Celebrations Package.
Groups between 20 and 200, get to choose between two three-course dinners: The first choice offers Caesar salad, sautéed mahimahi beurre blanc with black bean purée, ice cream bombe with strawberry sauce, rolls and butter, coffee and tea. The second choice offers greens with tomatoes and cucumbers, braised pork chop with grain mustard sauce and onions, and one chocolate cake per table.
Each package also comes with a floral arrangement for each table, cake and champagne. The package runs about $50 per person.
