I have been with my husband (both dating and married) for ten years now, but that does not mean that I do not look forward to People magazine’s annual Hottest Bachelor issue. In fact, if People every needs help interviewing potential bachelors, they can always call me!
THE hot bachelor this year was American Idol winner Taylor Hicks. That is funny because Taylor is anything but the classic good-looking bachelor. I find him attractive, but when he first appeared on American Idol, all anyone could talk about was his graying hair. And, there was a big stir over whether Idol hair stylists would try to color out the grey. I think it is great to see someone so unconventionally attractive at the top of People’s list. For Taylor to be named the top hot bachelor of 2006 is certainly a testament to his talent and personality as much as his looks. In addition to Taylor, American Idol host Ryan Seacrest and fellow contestant Ace Young also made the list.
Who else was on their list? New bachelor Nick Lachey was highly rated as was another recent new bachelor, Matthew McConaughey (who just separated from girlfriend of two years Penelope Cruz). There were a few surprises for me. “Scrubs” cutie Donald Faison made the list. I had never heard of Camilo Villegas until I saw him on the list, but if anyone can get me to watch professional golf on television, king he is the one! If you like “The Closer,” you will be glad to hear Jon Tenney made the list. Country singer Kenny Chesney (divorced from actress Renee Zellweger) was listed as a hot bachelor but told People “I want to give marriage another try.”
People magazine was not just looking for pretty faces either. Scott Sullivan, co-founder of the Corps of Compassion, made the list. His not-for-profit organization helps disaster survivors such as those affected by Hurricane Katrina. It also helps children in need.
Who do you think should have been on People’s Hot Bachelor list?
