The number of recalls on household products might surprise you and you might be rather shocked to learn the seriousness of some of them. Fortunately, many companies are diligent in announcing recalls and making fixes, replacements, or refunds available. The Consumer Product Safety Commission is also on the alert for dangers to consumers and offers an extensive list of recalls as well as information regarding how you can expect the situation to be remedied if you buy a faulty product, or how you can report a concern.
IKEA Furniture
While there has only been one reported injury, at least at the time the recall of IKEA Folding Chair Beds and Sofa Beds was issued, it was a serious one. A consumer was injured when trying to work the folding apparatus, which caused or resulted in the person’s fingertip being amputated. A free safety cover is available for the folding latch. Visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission to learn more about which pieces are being recalled and what you should do, or visit an IKEA store.
Maytag Dishwashers

Apparently, the compartment made for liquid rinse enhancers leaks and the liquid may leak onto wiring. This may result in or fire. There have been over 100 reports of fire and at least four injuries at the time this recall was issued, early this month. For more information and model numbers, please visit the CPSC page or the .
