I believe that it is truly important as an employee (but as a person in general, to always ask yourself how you can improve in certain areas of your life.
If you feel that your eating habits leave little to be desired, then you should consider eating better foods. If you have been lagging behind in the exercise department, it might be time to dust off those running shoes and take them out for a jog. Do you have a bad habit that you need to break? Then sit down and make a plan to do so.
To me, life is always about looking at yourself and the things that you are doing and try to make a plan to improve those things in which you fall behind.
I do this in business constantly. Once I finish a job I analyze it. What did I do well in that job? What did I need to improve upon? Then I work on improving that area so that the next time I get a similar job I can execute it in a better fashion.
That said, I’ve been wondering about this blogging job! How can I make my blogs about jobs, careers, finding a job, starting a business and so forth work better for you. After all, if I don’t make them work for the reader, then I am out of work!
I try to read all that I can about jobs, careers and the latest statistics and findings. I open up the business section on a daily basis. I read about career opportunities. I peruse message boards that deal with finding or keeping a job, as I always find great content to write about in these areas.
Yet there is one thing that is lacking, and that is your voice! If I knew who you were, I would have a better idea of how to tailor my posts to assist those of you who read my blog.
That said, I’m opening up a call for submissions of sorts! I would love to have you drop me an email or private message requesting a certain subject or even telling me what I can do to improve this job blog so that it works best for you.
This blog must stay diversified. I hear from people who work from home, work out of home or who are looking for employment. I’ve heard from students as well. My audience varies in career stages, and so the information that I share must relate to many and not just a select few. Therefore, I’m asking that you email or PM me regardless of where you are in the career process: beginning, middle or end. What you have to say, and the questions that you have to ask, will really make this blog work for many people.
Also, expect to see that I am opening up my blogs for reader comments more. I want to hear what you have to say on topics that I post! Blogs are meant to be communication logs. Communication is a two way street, as they say, so I’ll do my part on my end and I hope that you join in on yours!
