And you thought you were the only one battling chapped lips and cracked skin…
Turns out some of Hollywood’s biggest names are having a hard dealing with the elements at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. I suppose leaving California’s balmy temps for the chilly slopes of Utah could have a negative affect on a star’s skin.
Oh the horror of trying to look picture perfect when you are suffering from flaky skin.
Of course, not all celebs are having a hard time maintaining their flawless complexions in Utah’s freezing temps. Some stars have cold weather beauty secrets that help them look good no matter how low the mercury dips.
Here are some examples:
Actress Sienna Miller told news reporters she swears by Crème de la Mer, a thick moisturizer she slathers over her entire body. Kristen Bell is another Crème de la Mer fan, but at least she admits that the product is expensive and unlike Miller, Bell says that because of its high price she saves the creme for when she really needs it and “Sundance would qualify as one of those times.”
Meanwhile Gina Gershon says she sticks with what works-—Chapstick mixed with Rosebud Salve. Professional skier Picabo Street says she is also a fan of Chapstick, though she slathers it on solo. Actress Gretchen Mol battles dry skin by “drinking tons of water and trying to get sleep.” Though, when she’s in the elements she uses Dr. Hauschka brand all-natural body products, because “they don’t smell.”
Kate Walsh has an equally easy beauty regime. She says before going to bed each night she simply rubs Vaseline on her face and hands. As for actress Vera Farmiga, who is in Utah promoting “Never Forever,” she says the key to her beautiful skin is grapeseed oil-—“Pure extract of grapeseed. Absolutely. Just lather it on thick as a moisturizer.”
Finally, Drea de Matteo, who flew to Sundance to promote “Broken English,” says she lives and dies by ReVive products and a skincare line by Sonya Dakar. De Matteo says she uses the moisturizers “like they are going out of style” when she’s in chilly conditions.
Have you used any of the aforementioned skin care products and have they worked as well for you as they have for the celebs?
